Project Ark 1 – Brazil is the flagship partnership launching The Ark Collective’s global system. Located near São Paulo, Brazil , this facility represents the first physical manifestation of our funding model.
The mission is to establish a state-of-the-art scientific breeding center focused on the intensive recovery of species across major conservation threat categories: Extinct in the Wild (EW), Critically Endangered (CR), Endangered (EN), and Vulnerable (VU).
The Ark provides the scientific foundation, specialized facility management, and advanced breeding protocols necessary to stabilize these critical populations. Our output is integrated into external re-wilding and release programs managed by specialized field partners.
This project will serve as the verifiable proof-of-concept for The Ark Collective’s promise of structured, transparent, and accountable conservation with measurable results.
The development of Project São Paulo follows a rigorous, accountable timeline, mirroring the efficiency of Scott’s construction background. Every stage is linked to our transparent fund tracking system.
Securing the optimal site outside of São Paulo and obtaining all required environmental and construction permits (e.g., local and federal approval).
Construction of the central facility, veterinary clinic, quarantine centre, administrative block, and utility systems. This phase demonstrates the fund’s efficiency and transparency in action.
Building the species-specific breeding aviaries designed specifically for the delicate management of each species.
Bringing the full team (including Beto Polezel and local biologists) online, establishing initial breeding protocols.
The facility achieves operational readiness, the first successful breeding cycles begin, and the long-term process of breeding offspring and preparing systems with release partners.
